Part 3. Types of battery load tests
Here are some common types of load tests:
1. Constant current load test: this test applies a constant current load to the battery and measures its
voltage response over time. It helps to evaluate the capacity and performance of a battery at constant current consumption.
2. Pulse load test: this test enables the battery to withstand intermittent high current pulses. In these simulated
real-life scenarios, sudden power demands occur. It helps assess the battery's ability to handle peak loads.
3,Capacity load test: this test determines the capacity of a battery by discharging it at a specific rate until a predefined
voltage level is reached. It provides insight into the battery's available capacity and helps estimate its running time
4,Starting load test: this test is mainly used for automotive batteries, to assess the ability of the battery to provide high
current for starting the engine. It measures voltage drops during startup and helps assess battery startup power.
