EAK resistors are liquid-cooled resistors

EAK resistors are liquid-cooled resistors and are very small in size compared to air-cooled resistors. They support high pulse loads and high vibration resistance.

The water-cooled resistor has a fully insulated aluminum housing with a liquid cooling channel. The main resistive elements are made of thick film pastes with low thermal drift and excellent resistive accuracy. A resistance element is embedded in a silicon oxide or aluminum oxide filler. This structure enables the resistor to be used as a thermal capacitor with a high energy absorption capacity.

Water-cooled resistors rated from 800W start, depending on the water temperature and flow. The operating voltage is 1000VAC/1400VDC. The resistor can maintain up to 60 times the rated power in 5 second pulses per hour, depending on the resistance value.

The resistor has a protection rating ranging from IP50 to IP68.

Water-cooled resistors are ideal for applications with high average power and/or high pulse power loads. Typical applications include filter resistors for wind turbines, brake resistors for light rail and trams, and short-term loads for fuel cell applications. In traction applications, regenerative heat can be used to warm up the pilot/passenger compartment.

EAK designs and manufactures a variety of water-cooled liquid-cooled resistors to meet the needs of different users
